Fischer Says Avnoj Decisions Must Be Looked upon from the Aspect of History

Vienna, 1 December - Speaker of Austrian Parliament Heinz Fischer believes that the issue of Avnoj decisions has to be considered in the light of history in the 1930s and 40s and that past problems should not be imposed on the present generation by relating the issue to Slovenia's accession to the EU and the future of some country. As he said in a statement on Friday, Fischer made that clear as he accepted a petition on the abolition of Avnoj decisions and Benes decrees in the parliament in Vienna on Wednesday.
