Slovene-EU Trade Down Somewhat in First Ten Months of 2000

Ljubljana, 16 December - Slovenia exported US$ 4.687 billion worth of goods to EU countries and imported US$ 5.709 billion, according to statistics from the National Statistics Office. According to the figures Slovene exports are down 0.4 percent while imports are down 1.1 percent as compared to the same period last year. The data from the statistics office sees a five percent increase in trade with countries of the former Yugoslavia and a thirty percent increase with those of the former Soviet Union.
