Red Cross Remains the Leading Humanitarian Organisation in Slovenia

Ljubljana, 18 December - The Slovene Red Cross has been very successful this year and has retained the status of the largest humanitarian organisation in the country, its Secratary General Mirko Jelenic said on Monday as he talked to the press about past achievements and plans for the future. The organisation has joined in all campaigns launched by the International Red Cross Committee, increased the number of volunteers from 130,000 to 160,000, as well as the number of fresh members, trained over 1,500 teams to be able to provide first aid, and had 165,000 donors respond to its campaigns, up from 140,000 in the past year.
