Mediators Help Settle Minor Criminal Cases

The public prosecutor's office this year launched a project of settlement in minor criminal cases at district courts which can be sentenced with up to three years' imprisonment or a fine. With the help of mediators, prosecutors have solved 694 cases in a preliminary procedure which would otherwise end up at courts. Settlements save time and money, since the court procedure is much more expensive, was said by officials of the public prosecutor's office at a news conference on Thursday.
