Kucan: Slovenia Pleased over Serbia's Return to the Circle of Democratic European Nations

Ljubljana, 1 April - Slovene President Milan Kucan on Sunday hailed the news on the arrest of the former Yugoslav President Slobodan Milosevic, which in Kucan's opinion announces that one of the men who are responsible for the atrocities in the Balkans will answer for his acts before the court. The Slovene president is confident that the actions and the decisions made by the new democratic political and judicial authorities in Serbia will be able to set down such a policy that will be a distinctive alternative to the concept of a great Serbia, which was cruelly pursued by the Milosevic regime, so as to speed up Serbia's return to the circle of democratic European nations. Slovenia looks forward to that and supports Serbia in these efforts, said President Kucan as reported by his office.
