Borders to Be Re-Opened Next Week, but not for Meat from the EU

Ljubljana, 4 April - Directors of veterinary administrations from Central and Eastern Europe unanimously agreed at a working meeting on Wednesday in Ljubljana that as early as next week could see the re-opening of state borders currently closed for livestock and meat due to the threat of an outbreak of foot-and-mouth disease. However, lifting the ban on imports will not apply to Western European countries.
