A Breakthrough at Succession Talks as the First Concrete Agreement is Reached

Brussels, 11 April - The five successor states to the former Yugoslavia, which on Wednesday concluded a three-day round of talks in Brussels, have reached an agreement on the division of assets at the Basel-based Bank for International Settlements (BIS). Although this is only the first step towards solving the complex issue of the division of the assets and liabilities of the former common state, several officials attending the talks said that this was an actual breakthrough.
