Parliament Passes 2001 State Budget

Ljubljana, 20 April - The parliament late on Friday evening passed the state budget for 2001 in a 49-to-10 vote (60 MPs present). The amended budget anticipates revenues totalling SIT 1160.7 billion (EUR 5.3 billion) and expenditures of SIT 1210.4 billion (EUR 5.6 billion). The budget deficit is thus anticipated at just below SIT 50 billion (231.8 million euros), which is one percent GDP.
