Former Defence Minister Responds to Kucan's Criticism of Slovene Armed Forces

Ljubljana, 25 April - The Slovene Armed Forces and the Defence Ministry do have real problems, but these issues do not stem from the times of the former Andrej Bajuk government but especially from the period between 1994 and 1998, when a lot of army equipment was purchased from non-NATO countries, the former Defence Minister Janez Jansa said on Wednesday in response to President Milan Kucan's severe criticism that a great deal of expectations related to the Slovene Armed Forces were not met last year, particularly under the Bajuk government.
