Restrictions on Free Movement of Labour Unacceptable to Slovenia, Says Bavcar

Brussels, 25 April - Restrictions that the EU wishes to impose on the free labour flows from the new EU members are not acceptable to Slovenia. This Slovene position was repeated by Slovene Minister of European Affairs Igor Bavcar in his address at the session of the joint Slovene-EU parliamentary committee and at a bilateral meeting with European Commissioner for Enlargement Guenter Verheugen on Wednesday. Bavcar also submitted to the Commissioner a letter on the issue which has been addressed to all EU member states and in which the Minister called upon EU governments to consider the specificity of Slovenia in the issue.
