New Act on Media Passed

Ljubljana, 25 April - The parliament on Wednesday passed the new act on media in a 32-to-12 vote (50 MPs present). The act among other things determines that three percent of the money collected from TV license fees are to be allocated to regional, local and student radio and television programmes. The act also anticipates the establishment of the disputed audiovisual media fund.
