Gov't to Ensure Funds for Bankrupt Shoemaker Peko

Ljubljana, 26 April - The government on Thursday tasked the Slovene Development Corporation (SRD) to become actively involved in the resolution of the bankruptcy problems faced by shoe-manufacturer Peko. As part of the decision the SRD will provide funds for continued production in Peko during the debt enforcement process. According to estimates Peko needs some SIT 700 million for continued operation. With the funds the shoe-manufacturer will be able to pay wages for April and settle its liabilities to its suppliers.
