Slovenia's Hauptman Excellent Third in Third Round of Giro d'Italia

Potenza, 22 May - Slovene cyclist Andrej Hauptman (Vini Caldriola) placed third in Tuesday's third round of the tour of Italy (Giro d'Italia), after Germany's Danielo Hondo (Team Telekom) and Italy's Endrio Leoni (Allessio), recording the best placement of a Slovene cyclist in the history of this race. The best Slovene in overall standings remains Gorazd Stangelj (Liquigas), just over one minute behind race leader Rik Verbrugghe of Belgium, while Andrej Hauptman now lags little under two minutes behind.
