Successor States Make Breakthrough as Umbrella Agreement is Initialed

Vienna, 25 May - The marathon ten-day talks on issues concerning succession to the former Yugoslavia concluded on Friday in Vienna with a major breakthrough, as the five successor states managed to initial an umbrella succession agreement. The agreement is expected to be signed by government representatives of the five successor states - Bosnia, Croatia, Macedonia, Slovenia and Yugoslavia - within three weeks.
