Referendum: Controversial Law Gets a "No-Vote"

Ljubljana, 18 June - The controversial act which would allow single women to have test-tube babies was given a "no-vote" at Sunday's referendum, the latest figures from the National Electoral Commission (RVK) show. The unofficial figures from the 566,421 counted votes - end voter turnout thus stood at 35.57 percent - sees 72.39 percent of "no" votes and 26.36 percent "yes" votes. Another 1.25 percent of the votes were deemed invalid. The official results are expected to be confirmed by Thursday.
