Small Gains for Benchmark Index in First Half of 2001

Ljubljana, 15 July - The total volume of trade on the Ljubljana Stock Exchange (LJSE) amounted to 145.49 billion tolars (668 million euros) in the first half of 2001. This figure represents a 15.6 percent jump over a year before. In this period the benchmark index, SBI 20, saw little gains, standing at 1812.54 points; up only a quarter of a percent for the first half of the year.
