Slovenia Marks Ten Years Since Last Yugoslav Soldier Left Its Soil
Koper, 26 October - Friday is the tenth anniversary since the last ship of the former Yugoslav People's Army (JLA) with soldiers, arms and equipment left the Slovene port of Koper. "At that moment, Slovenia finally and irrevocably became a sovereign master on its territory," said President Milan Kucan at today's ceremony. Defence and Interior Ministers Anton Grizold and Rado Bohinc unveiled a monument marking the occasion.
