Slovenia Gravely Lagging Behind in Acquis Translations

Ljubljana, 28 October - Translation of the acquis communautaire into Slovene began in 1996 and five years later Slovenia has hardly made any real progress, said member of Slovenia's EU negotiating team and the chair of the commission for legal editing of the translated documents, Miro Prek, at a round table on translation of the acquis into Slovene last Wednesday. Only a couple thousand pages out of 80,000 have been legally revised and thus finished, he pointed out.
