Slovenia's Foreign Debt Higher than Foreign Reserves at End of August

Ljubljana, 30 October - Slovenia's foreign exchange reserves totaled US$ 4.8 billion at the end of August. Foreign reserves thus shrunk by US$ 90 million from a month before, but were still up US$ 464.4 million over the end of 2000. At the end on August the foreign reserves were still lower by US$ 1.9 billion than the overall foreign debt, which totaled US$ 6.7 billion on the last day of August, according to the latest issue of the Bulletin of the Bank of Slovenia.
