European Commission Exempts Slovenia from Transitional Period in Transport
Brussels, 8 November - Slovenia has been exempt from the proposal that the European Commission made on Thursday, namely that the EU should demand in accession negotiations on transport that candidate countries be limited in their access to markets of current EU members as regards the transport of goods. Along with Cyprus and Malta, Slovenia has been exempt from this provision due to comparable transport costs and because of the high-level implementation of the acquis in this field.
