Banks Should Stay Slovene, Believe Two Strongest Opposition Parties
Ljubljana, 9 November - The opposition parties of Social Democrats of Slovenia (SDS) and New Slovenia (NSi) believe that the current privatisation model for banks is harmful for Slovenia's national interests. According to them, this can be clearly seen in the case of Banka Koper, where the hunger for large profits overcomes the desire to enable a long-term support and development of Slovenia's economy. Privatisation of banks is late due to the inefficiency of this and previous governments, so this is not the best moment for it, said SDS President Janez Jansa at a press conference on Friday.
