Ljubljana, 10 November - Chairman Arafat has resorted to threatening to declare an independent state when he saw no other alternative for the resolution of the Mideast problem in the foreseeable future. The last time he did this was in 1999, only to change his mind on threats of Israeli occupation. Without their own state, the Palestinians have still tasted the ever more frequent occupation of their lands in the last 13 months of the intifada, the daily Dnevnik points out on Saturday.
