Slovenia's Approach to Armed Forces Reform Is Good and Realistic, Says NATO Secretary General
Ljubljana, 12 November - NATO Secretary General George Robertson, who was on a one-day official visit to Slovenia on Monday as part of his NATO candidate countries tour, met with Slovene President Milan Kucan, Defence Minister Anton Grizold and Speaker of Parliament Borut Pahor. Grizold introduced Robertson to Slovenia's defence reforms and preparations of the country's security system for NATO membership. Slovenia is aware it is building a defence system primarily for itself, it is determined to carry out its plans, not for NATO, but for Slovenia, stressed Grizold, who also expressed conviction that Slovenia would be invited to NATO at the Prague summit, said the Defence Ministry.
