Romania Defeated, Slovenia Qualifies for World Cup

Bucharest, 14 November - The Slovene national football team qualified for its first World Cup ever, drawing the second leg match 1:1 (1:0) with Romania in Bucharest and thus winning the two-leg playoff 3:2 on aggregate. Slovenia got their goal from Mladen Rudonja, who scored in the 57th. The Romanians drew equal nine minutes later through Cosmin Contra, but could not get another to force the match into extra time.
