Romania Defeated, Slovenia Qualifies for World Cup

Bucharest/Ljubljana, 14 November - In what is perhaps Slovenia's greatest sporting success ever, its national football team qualified for the 2002 World Cup in Japan and South Korea on Wednesday. The Slovene team managed to draw the second-leg playoff match against Romania 1:1 (0:0) in Bucharest, thus winning the two-leg playoff 3:2 on aggregate.
