BSE Workgroup to Tackle Issues Related to Potential Presence of Disease in Slovenia

Ljubljana/Skopje, 15 November - A workgroup for BSE, comprising officials from the Slovene Agriculture Ministry, Veterinary Administration, food industry, Agriculture Chamber, agriculture trade unions and the association of cattle breeders, met for the first time on Thursday, three days after news broke that Slovenia likely faces its first case of mad cow disease. The workgroup will monitor the situation and discuss measures needed to be taken in the future if the presence of BSE is confirmed.
