Additional Tests at Veterinary Institute Confirm BSE Suspicion in Slovenia

Ljubljana, 16 November - Additional research carried out by the National Veterinary Institute into the suspected BSE infection of a five-year-old cow has confirmed BSE presence in the tested sample, said the Slovene Veterinary Administration on Friday. The suspicion of bovine spongiform encephalopathy (BSE) presence in the sample is to be finally confirmed or rejected by testing in a reference laboratory in Bern, Switzerland. The test results are to be known at the beginning of next week.
