Largest Slovene Brewer Considers Counter-Bidding on Pivovarna Union
Ljubljana, 19 November - Belgian brewer Interbrew on Monday informed the Securities' Agency and the antitrust office about its intent to make a public offer for the purchase of the remaining shares of the Slovene brewery Pivovarna Union at SIT 73,000 (331 euros) a share. The Slovene Pension Management Fund (KAD) and the Slovene Restitution Fund (SOD), together holding a 22.6 percent stake in Union, did not wish to disclose whether they intend to sell their shares. Pivovarna Lasko, holding the largest stake in Union, has considered counter-bidding on Interbrew's offer, said Lasko's press release.
