Delo: The Beer Will Foam Still

Ljubljana, 20 November - The announcement of Belgian giant Interbrew that it intends to become a majority owner of Slovene brewer Pivovarna Union came as no surprise. It is now up to the state to intervene in what has become a cockfight. A decision has to be made on which of the two almost 25 percent stakeholders of the Ljubljana-based brewery - Interbrew or Slovene rival Pivovarna Lasko - will be supported in their bid for a majority stake, the daily Delo writes on Tuesday.
