Minister Rupel Warns against "Rationalisation" of Number of EU Official Languages

Brussels, 20 November - Slovene Foreign Minister Dimitrij Rupel severely opposed any potential rationalisation of official languages in the EU. "Without safeguarding language heritage and competence of all, including the smallest European nations, a serious crisis would occur," Rupel pointed out in his speech at a conference on language aspects of EU enlargement in Brussels on Tuesday.
