Slovenia Will Destroy All Anti-Personnel Mines by 2003
New York, 22 November - Slovenia has so far destroyed some 50,000 anti-personnel mines, about one third of its total stock, and, acting in line with the 1997 Ottawa Convention Banning Landmines, expects to destroy all the mines by 2003, Slovene deputy Ambassador to the UN, Jure Gasparic, told the UN General Assembly on Wednesday in a debate on anti-personnel mines.
