Weekly Review of Events Involving Slovenia from 17 to 23 November

Ljubljana, 24 November - Foreign Minister Dimitrij Rupel last week wound up his visit to New York and Washington, and together with Defence and Interior Ministers, Anton Grizold and Rado Bohinc, in Brussels discussed the construction of European defence and security policy at a meeting of EU Foreign and Defence Ministers. Rupel moreover attended a conference on language aspects of EU enlargement, and together with Prime Minister Janez Drnovsek in Trieste took part in the Central European Initiative (CEI) summit.

Defence Minister Grizold paid a working visit to London, while Chief-of-Staff of the Slovene Armed Forces, Brigadier Ladislav Lipic, in Brussels attended a meeting of his counterparts from the Euro-Atlantic Partnership Council.

Interior Minister Bohinc in Budapest attended a working meeting of his counterparts from Italy, Hungary and Italy. Foreign Ministry State Secretary Magdalena Tovornik began her two-week visit to Slovenes living in the U.S..
