Slovenia's Funding of Research and Development Reaches EU Average

Ljubljana, 24 November - Slovenia allocated 1.48 percent of GDP for research and development in 1998, and 1.51 percent GDP in 1999, which is around the average of the amount EU members allocated to that purpose in 1999. According to the European statistics institute Eurostat, the EU earmarked 1.92 percent GDP for research and development in 1999 and 1.90 percent of GDP in 2000.
