Gender Equality in Representation in Politics to be Protected by the Constitution

Ljubljana, 30 November - A group of Slovene MPs presented an initiative on Friday to amend Article 44 of the Slovene Constitution in a bid to lay foundations for equal opportunities of men and women in running for political offices on the national as well as local levels. The initiative was signed by 75 legislators from all parliamentary parties.
