Review of Slovenia's Domestic Affairs - December 2000 to November 2001
Ljubljana, 8 December - The first year of Janez Drnovsek's fourth government, the sixth government in the country that celebrated its tenth anniversary in 2001, was surprisingly calm - perhaps because of a relatively strong coalition government (made up of the Liberal Democrats (LDS), the United List of Social Democrats (ZLSD), SLS+SKD Slovene People's Party and the Democratic Party of Pensioners (DeSUS)), which was formed after the general elections in October 2000. The government "boat" only rocked a bit more seriously after eleven months in office when the opposition Coalition Slovenia (SDS and NSi) filed an interpellation motion against Environment Minister Janez Kopac, a member of the senior coalition partner, the LDS.
