New Excise Duty Act Takes Effect; Alcohol and Cigarettes Dearer

Ljubljana, 8 December - A EU-compatible act on excise duty took effect on Saturday, which brings about an increase of duty on beer and alcoholic beverages, while speeding up the introduction of a higher excise duty rate on cigarettes, as demanded by the EU.
