Review of the Slovene Economy - December 2000 to November 2001
Ljubljana, 9 December - The Slovene economy performed below initial expectations in 2001, mainly as a result of the worsening global economic conditions that were additionally strained by the September 11 terrorist attacks on the U.S. and an overall fall in investment. The annual economic growth - initially forecast at 4.4 percent - is now expected to amount to 3.7 percent in 2001. It is no surprise that the most sought answers at this time are those of how and to what extent the global economic slowdown will affect Slovenia.
