Politics Should not Meddle in Business, Says Slovene Prime Minister
Ljubljana, 10 December - It is a serious interference of politics in an economic and business decision of the private sector, said Slovene Prime Minister Janez Drnovsek at Monday's press conference, commenting the signatures of 75 MPs against the merger of Slovenia's second brewer Pivovarna Union with Belgium's Interbrew. The MPs called on the Pension Fund Management (KAD) and the Slovene Reimbursement Company (SOD), together holding a 22.6 percent stake in Union, not to sell their shares to the foreign buyer.
