IMF Optimistic About Slovene Economic Outlook, Says Slovenia Should Focus on Mid-term Goals

Ljubljana, 18 December - Instead of being distracted by short-term issues in the current atmosphere of economic uncertainty, Slovenia should focus on mid-term economic goals, the head of the visiting IMF delegation told a press conference in Ljubljana on Tuesday. The preliminary IMF report, presented by IMF official Dimitri Demekas, thus says that Slovenia continues to head in the right direction with its policies, while work remains to be done in the fields of inflation and privatisation.
