Gov't Issues Decree on Liability for Nuclear Damage

Ljubljana, 19 December - The Slovene government issued Wednesday a decree setting the amount of liability of a user of a nuclear facility for nuclear damage, as well as the amount of cover against the culpability for nuclear damage. The sum was set in accordance to the Paris Convention on Third Party Liability in the Field of Nuclear Energy, meaning that the upper limit of liability cannot exceed 15 million Special Drawing Rights - SDR, or some 20 million U.S. dollars, while the lower limit equals five million SDR, the Environment Ministry said.
