State Assumes Bulk of Slovene Steelworks' Liabilities

Ljubljana, 20 December - In a fast track procedure, the Parliament on Thursday confirmed an act by which the state will assume the bulk of liabilities of the Slovene Steelworks enterprise. As of 1 January 2002, the state is thus to assume some SIT 29 billion (EUR 131 million) of the debt that is the result of the Steelworks' restructuring.
