Unexpected Twist in the Battle for Union Brewery Echoes in Slovene Press

Ljubljana/Maribor, 22 December - Two Slovene dailies respond to Friday's news that a Slovene state-owned fund has sold its 12.2-percent stake in Pivovarna Union, Slovenia's second-largest brewer for which Belgium's Interbrew has recently placed a public takeover bid, to another Slovene brewer and Intebrew's rival, Pivovarna Lasko. Both dailies wonder what made the director of the Slovene Reimbursement Company (SOD) decide to sell the stake without consulting the SOD board of managers.
