Interbrew Expects Deal Between SOD and Lasko Will be Annulled

Ljubljana, 22 December - There is a great possibility that this decision would lead to the establishment of a monopoly on the Slovene beer market, as more than 90 percent of the market would be controlled by a single beer-maker, thus contradicting the anti-trust act, Belgian brewer Interbrew responded to Friday's decision of the Slovene Reimbursement Fund (SOD) to sell its 12.2 percent stake in Slovene brewer Pivovarna Union to rival Slovene brewer Pivovarna Lasko.
