Slovene Police Chief Accused of Attempted Rape

Ljubljana, 15 January - Director General of the Slovene Police, Marko Pogorevc, has been accused of attempted rape dating back nine years. A woman reported the supposed crime to the state prosecution in mid-December 2001, accusing Pogorevc of attempting to rape her at a police party that took place at Suhorje, Southern Slovenia, in 1992, the weekly political magazine Mladina says in a story run in this week's edition.
