Successor States Make no Headway in Talks on Ljubljanska banka Savings Deposits
Strasbourg, 21 January - Delegations of the five successor states to the former Yugoslavia at the Council of Europe (CoE) met with rapporteur of the CoE Committee on Legal Affairs and Human Rights, Erik Jurgens, to discuss his draft report on the issue of outstanding savings deposits held by Croatian and Bosnian savers in the former Ljubljanska banka. The officials made no decision on the report, which is due to be presented at the April session of the CoE Parliamentary Assembly, as they expressed a wish to wait for the results of the next round of succession negotiations on this issue, the Slovene national radio reported.
