Steel Workers Could Get 6,500 Tolars More Per Month, Fate of Strike Not Yet Known

Ljubljana, 28 January - Negotiating teams representing the employers and the employees in the steelworks industry concluded talks Monday at which the two sides agreed on a 6,500 tolar (30 euros) increase for the basic wage. The representatives of the employers must now present the agreement to management boards of companies that will make a final decision. The largest trade union representing steel workers (SKEI) will thus await the outcome until tomorrow morning, prior to deciding on potential strike action.
