Sustainable Development in the Mediterranean Discussed at Special Workshop
Portorož, 31 January - The conservation of the Mediterranean region and sustainable development in this region require education and a good level of co-operation between the nations, while similar meetings to that of today can help set down expectations, priorities and conservation measures. This was stressed by Arab Hoballah, the Deputy Director of the Mediterranean Action Plan, in Thursday's opening address to the one-day workshop entitled "Water, the Key to Sustainable Development" that was held near Slovenia's coastal town of Portoroz.
