Four Mayors of Bilingual Italian Communities Address Letter to President Ciampi

Trieste, 2 February - After the Italian Interior Ministry enforced on 16 January a decree abolishing bilingual identity cards in four municipalities in the Trieste region, majors of the four municipalities addressed a letter on Saturday to Italian President Carlo Azeglio Ciampi, urging him to respect the umbrella protection act for the Slovene minority, adopted last year.
