Denmark Hopes EU Accession Talks to Close by the End of the Year
Brdo pri Kranju, 6 February - Enlargement of the EU will definitely be one of the priorities of the Danish presidency over the EU in the second half of the year, as we wish to close accession negotiations with up to ten candidate countries at the December EU summit in Copenhagen. This is what Danish Prime Minister Anders Fogh Rasmussen said on Wednesday at a news conference following a meeting with his Slovene counterpart Janez Drnovsek at Brdo pri Kranju, some 30 km north of Ljubljana. He added that Slovenia definitely has extremely good chances to achieve that.
