Carmina Slovenica Choir Receives Main Ford Award for Heritage Preservation
Maribor, 6 February - The Maribor-based choir Carmina Slovenica received the main 2001 Ford award for the preservation of natural and cultural heritage on Wednesday for its project Slovenian Sounds. Headed by conductor Karmina Silec, the choir received the SIT 1.5 million (EUR 6,735) award for a proper understanding of the Slovene musical and broader spiritual heritage and giving it a modern artistic expression.
